What is your funniest motorcycle story?
When I came back from over-seas I gotten 833 sportster and went on a group ride this group would not let me ride with them unless I wore a helmet. So I barrowed one from one of the other riders in the group. We where Rollin about 75 mph down an open part of I35 in Texas. When we picked up a good strong head wind. Well needless to say the helmet was too big for me and popped off my head like a parachute! The chin strap stayed in place nicely around my neck as I started to get light headed my buddy guide me off the road in to the grass. Where I hit the ground trying to yell for someone to “get this F”in helmet off of me!” Maybe that why I don’t like helmets anymore. So what’s you storying?
the 1st time i rode with some ha members, i had an fxr and the back tire was already hooched, so we thought it would be fun to do a few burnouts on it.
the tire shredded and a good sized piece hit one of the boys in the nards…. i thought i’d be dead right there, but they all still laugh about it…. gotten along with them real well ever since and realized then that they’re great guys, not sure which was funnier, the rubber to the nards or me preparing to die when they wouldn’t have dreamt of it.
I worked with a girl who saved herself for marriage (long time ago). Her and her new husband went to Bermuda for their honeymoon. First day there, they each rented a scooter. When she test drove hers in the parking lot, she hit a parked car, fell off and broke her arm in 2 places and had to have surgery. Spent the next few days in the hospital and the rest of her honeymoon in a cast!
Not a motorcycle story, but funny nonetheless.

I was stopped at a light on my cruiser and this young kid (17-19ish) pulls up beside me on a fairly new sport bike. He reves his engine and gets into a "race start" position on his bike. I ignore him and he pulls away fast only to get caught at the next light.
I am unfortunate enough to be next to him again, this time he revs up and does a small burnout at the red light. He produces a bit of smoke then stalls the bike. At this point a group of girls behind him start laughing and I join in. He tried to recover and restarts the bike. I guess he forgot that it was in gear and fails to engage the clutch, the bike shoots out from under him knocking him to the ground and nearly hits a car going through the intersection. His bike hits the sidewalk and goes into a fast food parking lot where it comes to a stop just in front of a group (three) police cars.
As the light turns Green I go through the light and look as several amused police officers are exiting the restaurant.

20 years ago, for reasons which would take a while to explain and aren’t really relevant, I had to transport the head off a pantomime horse, strapped on the back of my bike (a rather lardy CX500 Eurosport with a full Rickman fairing) from Reading to London on the M4 during rush hour.
Hardly a single car overtook me all the way into town, they just formed up behind me to enjoy Dobbin staring back at them from behind me.
In town, it was like being part of a celebrity wedding parade, so many people beeped at me and waved – pity he couldn’t come with me every day!
….or there was the time I tried to make the traditional "dick head" hand gesture at a car driver who had just cut me up, lost control (I’d only had my full license a few weeks) and landed in a heap in a pavement cafe in a village in France.
Take your pick!

I’ve seen a burnout go wrong before…
waiting at a red light, this guy tries a burn out and ends up launching his bike right into an old lady’s station wagon…
she didn’t even realize it, and pulled away….
the floorboard got wedged under the bumper, and she dragged the bike for a good 3 blocks…

I didn’t see this one but a good friend of mine told me about it. He was on vacation down somewhere in Caribbean and he and his girlfriend are sitting on a patio near the road. Two squids on sport bikes decide they are going to put on a show so they both starting doing burn-outs and donuts on the public road. The only problem was that they were standing too close to each other so as they are both spinning their bikes around, both rear wheels touch and the bikes shot out from underneath them. The result was predictable…both riders fell down and both bikes crashed into the curb.
