Kawasaki Ninja 250R prices?

Im looking at a 2007 kawasaki ninja 250R for my first motorcycle. The bike itself costs around 3000 dollars by itself. What equiptment would be needed/prefured (and what would be the prices).
Im wondering what the price overall would be (that would be including the helmet, and accessories that may be needed for a safer riding experience).
Thanks =)

a 250R is under 3000….if your going to buy a 250 for around 3k, just get an older R6 or Gixxer 600, get one with a salvage title (do your research, look around, and get someone who KNOWS their stuff on bikes to check it out)….most people cringe and the sound of salvage title, its a stigma that means resale will not be as easy, but it being your first bike, who cares if its performing up to standards, its your training wheels remember!!! eventually sell it for whatever you can and move on, and youll want to keep it alot longer than the 250 ( which you will get tired of within a month or two )….BUT make sure its in good working condition, the frame is not bent and busted up, subframe, swingarm also…check the steering blocks to see if theyve been worned down to nubs or still nice and squared off, etc…but youll need to get someone to check it out!!!!!

BUT to ANSWER your original question, thats all relative to what brands you want to buy and how much gear and accessories you want to have ( for example a full face Shoei RF1000 ( its a helmet ) is over $300, but you could go with an HJC for under 200

GEAR LIST MUST HAVES
Helmet (FULL FACE) $175-$300go with HJC, Icon, KBC for the second stringers, Shoei, Arai 1st string but very expensive, dont go and buy a really cheap no name with no SNELL or DOT standards

Jacket $200-$400 for leather $150-300 for textile ( preferably leather to give you the most protection, but textiles will protect also ) Alpinestars, Joe Rocket, Cortech, Icon ( affordable ), Dainese, Spidi (high end very expensive)…get one with armor and protection in the back, shoulders, and elbows, CE Certified if you can

Gloves $50-100( with plastic or carbon around the knuckles to offer more protection )

Boots $50-100( that cover past the ankle bone, no low tops )

think about investing in a back protector(100-150), and also ride with sturdy jeans (pref leathers, but sometimes its not practical) never ride with shorts or thin track pants

for your bike think about investing in some frame sliders (50-100) or a crash cage(200-250), they arent that expensive, and if you end up laying the bike down, they may help you save $$$, but I wouldnt worry about putting mods and bling on your bike because you wont keep it for long

above all, just use your head, and dont be those guys that ride flipflops, swimshorts and a tank top with a ballcap for head protection, be SAFE

I suggest you get a used one, I bought a 2007 250R that had been downed for $1,200. So I suggest you shop around, mine only had scratches on it and it saved me a lot of money buying one that isn't perfect. If you are new you are almost certain to drop the bike. As far as getting a bigger bike, I would stick with the 250 for your first one, you may or may not get tired of it. Just try it out first though, it's easier to learn on than a 600.

Helmet-Shoei X-11 Kiyonari, these are the best helmets out, they are pricey though, $692. You can find one on ebay for around $500. Without the graphics you can find one for maybe $400 online. Definitely worth the money.

Jacket- I have Tecknic leather jacket and a first gear jacket with CE armor, both were around $70. Honestly its cheaper to shop online. Look on sites like http://www.motorycycleclosouts.com http://www.denniskirk.com

Gloves- Tecknic leather with plated knuckles.

I don't wear protective boots or pants. I may decide to though.

you can probably buy a brand new 2008 Ninja 250 for a little bit more. Plus it looks a whole lot better. IMHO

    You'll need:
    helmet $200-400
    jacket 100-300
    boots 100-250
    gloves 50-100

low side you're looking at $400, high side 1000 bucks. It all depends on the quality of the stuff you get and where you get it.
helmet is a must in almost all states, a jacket and gloves will save your skin, boots will prevent busting your ankles. There's also a lot of other stuff you can pick up if you want.

Plus you'll need motorcycle insurance and health insurance is a good idea too. Price on that, who knows?
